Glossary

Clear – high shot from backcourt to backcourt

Drive – a low fast shot to the backcourt; shuttlecock is hit from the side of the body

Drop – soft downward shots to the front of the court or near the net

Level Doubles – game wherein each team is composed of two players of the same sex

Mixed Doubles –game wherein each team is composed of one male and one female player

Netshot – a shot wherein the shuttlecock is hit in front of the body and goes just past the net

Smash – a very fast downwards shot wherein the shuttle cock is hit overhead
