Baseball Equipment

•  Baseball – a stitched leather ball about the size of a fist

•  Baseball bat – a single round piece of solid wood, aluminum, ceramic or graphite that is 7 centimeters in diameter at its thickest point and no more than 42 inches (1.06 meters) long.

•  Gloves – major league gloves and mitts are made of leather. Pick gloves that conform to major league standards and fit your hand comfortably.

•  Shoes – wear shoes that fit properly and give you adequate support so that you do not run the risk or lower leg injury. Standard baseball shoes have metal spikes or rubber cleats, but it is not really necessary

•  Batting helmets – hitters (batters) are required to wear a helmet (with an earflap) whenever they step to the plate to protect their heads from oncoming fast balls.

•  Batting gloves – this protects the hitter's hands from blisters, cuts, and scrapes.

•  Caps – this has to fit your head snugly so that the bill does not cover your eyes and hamper your vision.

•  Uniform – this has to fit you comfortably and allow you freedom of movement.
