bag – after getting a turkey, most people start referring to the string of strikes as a bag, e.g. four-bagger
heads – front part of the lane between the foul line and the arrows where the ball is delivered onto
hook – a ball that breaks rather sharply toward the pocket as opposed to a curve
mechanical pinsetter – a machine that sets up bowling pins in their correct position
open frame – if a bowler fails to make the spare, it is called an open frame
perfect game – by scoring strikes in every frame, the maximum score is 300, a player hits a perfect game
release – movement used by the bowler to give energy onto the bowling ball
series – adding up the scores from all the games a bowler played will give him the total series
sleeper – a pin hidden behind another pin
turkey – three strikes in a row is called a turkey
