Golf History
The game began in Scotland , and for over five centuries it has been a prominent sport in the British Isles . Basically golf is a sport played either by teams or individually, where players attempt to make the ball go into a hole by hitting it with a club within the terrain called “course”. A series of holes is dug on the course, usually about 9 to 18 holes. The oldest existing course is called the Old Links in Musselburgh, where golf has been played since 1672. |
