About Gymnastics

Grace, strength, balance, flexibility – these are the hallmarks of gymnastics. This sport is a whole lot of fun. In fact, most of us just naturally tumble into it.

Gymnastics is something we actually see everyday and is a great way to keep our bodies flexible and limber. It combines fun with a little dance and yoga. For the more skilled, they add the acrobatics such as in a cheering squad.

It can be the simple fun of waiving a ribbon on a stick creating various shapes. It can be aerobics and floor work that really stretches your body. It can also be the competitive sport that you see in the Summer Olympics.

Gymnastics can be learned by anyone of any age, though usually, those who will compete in the international competition needs to begin at a very early age. It requires proper training and preparation, and due to the difficulty of some of the activities required of the athletes, it is considered a dangerous sport.
