field hockey – a form of hockey played with a ball on gravel, grass or sand most widely played in Western Europe , Asia , Australia and New Zealand
goal – provides one point when the puck goes between the goal posts from the stick of an attacking player and crosses the red line
goal crease – denotes the playing area of the goal tender into which no player without the puck can enter
goal line – the red line between the goal posts that stretches in both directions to the sideboards. The puck must go over this line to be considered a goal.
goal posts – metal bars that frame the area to which the net is attached
goaltender, goalkeeper, goalie – the heavily padded player who guards the goal
icing – occurs when a player shoots the puck from within his own half of the rink across the opponent's goal line
offside – a team is offside when an attacking player crosses the blue line of the offensive zone before the puck
roller hockey – a form of hockey played in an indoor rink with a ball or a plastic puck
shorthanded – when a team has a player in the box due to penalty, it plays shorthanded
Zamboni – the machine that resurfaces the ice
