About Parachuting

Parachuting, also known as skydiving, is an activity involving the use of a parachute in order to break from a free-fall. It is not only a competitive sport but also a recreational activity and sometimes performed for the deployment of military personnel and forest firefighters. Skydiving began with the descent of Andre Jacque Gamerin from a hot-air balloon in 1797. It became an international sport in 1951 but early competitions date back to as early as 1930.
