About Windfsurfing

Windsurfing or Boardsailing is a water sport involving one person both sailing and surfing over water on a small 2–4.7 meter board, called a sailboard. Movement is powered by wind acting on a single sail. The rider can steer by tilting the mast and sail or when planning, carving the board.
Windsurfers can travel over flat water as long as there is enough wind. They can cut into breaking waves and perform spectacular stunts. This sport can be a relaxing and peaceful sail or the thrilling, high stress high adrenalin surf.
It's an easy sport to learn. With coaching, the windsurfer can sail, steer and turn within a few hours. It only becomes difficult to learn when a beginner uses the wrong equipment in the wrong conditions. With the right equipment, most people sail around comfortably after a two-hour lesson.
Windsurfing is a finesse sport. 100 pound girls can windsurf as easily and as well, if not better than 200 pound football players. You don't have to be young and athletic. The windsurfer athletic look is because it is actually a great work-out. Windsurfers come in all shapes and sizes, and certainly all ages. It is also need not be expensive. All you need is a good, basic set-up (usually this would cost US$500) and you could be out there surfing!
Fun and exciting, it gives the free feeling of being out in the open as the windsurfer glides effortless over refreshing, clear waters. It also gives the exhilarating feeling of adventure as one brave the waves and sails thru each peak and trough. The sport combines peace, freedom, thrill and adventure all rolled into one.
